Our Mission:
Ben Salem UCC is grounded, evangelical, prayerful, welcoming, historic, future-oriented, worshiping God in a new church sanctuary and seeking to share God's power and love.
Ben Salem UCC offers two well-planned worship services, one "blended", one "contemporary", with Biblically-based messages. We seek to provide a firm foundation for people to live and witness in the world. Our music ministry, including handbells, provides inspiration and many opportunities for involvement. The congregation is quite "traditional", with an even distribution of ages, yet has moved ahead by building a new sanctuary in 2002. We seek to help people be grounded in the basics of the Christian faith and empowered to stand and serve others in the world. We have an active healing ministry. We are "open and transforming".

Please welcome Rev. Jim Knappenberger as our Interim Pastor
Rev. Knappenberger and his wife Pamela reside at 2257 Skyline Drive, Slatington, PA 18080. Pastor Jim was ordained in June 1977 at his home church, Union U.C.C., Neffs, PA. He served Good Shepherd U.C.C., Slatedale, from January 1976 through June 1990. He was then called to become Sr. Pastor or St. Paul’s U.C.C., Trexlertown, where he served from July 1990 through his retirement in November, 2007. In retirement he served as Sr. Interim Pastor atChrist Church U.C.C., Bethlehem, from January through June 2008. Pam is a former voice and piano teacher, and a retired middle-school librarian. Pam and Jim have a daughter , Rebecca who is a graduate ofCedar Crest College. She works as an accountant for a rail-trucking firm, and as a model for the QVC shopping network. Their son, Joshua, is a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves where he serves as a Chaplain’s Assistant. He is about to begin his middler year at Moravian Seminary, working on a Master of Divinity degree.
